Doors to the World Project
Can you guess where this class is? Read the clues from Mrs Eadie's Grade 2/3 and email them
1. We live on an island state in the southern hemisphere.
2. There is a "Big Apple" shop and apple orchards near our school.
3. Our school starts with S. |
Students / Teachers send
a photo or a drawing of the view to the outside
world, from their classroom/school door with three clues as to the
location of their school. The picture and clues will be posted for
other classrooms to browse and attempt to find out where your
classroom is located.
Age:Students
of any age can participate. Both Elementary and Junior High School
students enjoy collaborating together to take the photo / or draw a
picture and write the three clues.
Location:Be
sure to think hard about the clues you include with your photo. Give
just enough details to help another class research the area of the
world you are in.
What
to do next?: Send us your photo and
3 clues. We will post the information and your class email address
for other classes to guess your location.
Be sure to
include you EMAIL ADDRESS so other classes can send their guesses to you.
What
will students learn? :
Have fun with this
project as students collaborate in writing the clues and investigate
information given about the school.
Students will gain a greater
understanding of continents, countries, cities and local areas. Doors
to the World will provide many opportunities for students to research
geography and history of a particular area and provide information to
others about their unique locality.
