Sport: Anything is Possible
Australian
sports refuse to be lumped into just one category. Competitive team
sports such as rugby and Australian Rules football are popular, but
the country can't deny its love for the solo pleasures of surfing and
golf. As for the nation's most prestigious sporting event
that's the Melbourne Cup, an annual horse race. Learn
more about sports Down Under, where there's even a smattering of
camel racing. |

Tara
Nott was working for the Atlanta Organising Committee for the
Olympic Games in 1995 when she started weight training as part of her

Athlete
Spotlight: Kerri-Ann Pottharst (Australia)
For
years, Kerri-Ann Pottharst was the best attacker on the Australian
women's indoor-volleyball team. Then, in 1992, after a decade on the
international circuit, a severe knee injury led to months of
rehabilitation. It might have ended her volleyball career, but
instead, Pottharst
headed for the beach for beach volleyball. |
