the Spotlight: Redgrave wins fifth rowing gold
Briton
Steve Redgrave refused to rule out another Olympic campaign
after winning an unprecedented fifth consecutive gold medal on
Saturday at the Sydney regatta. Redgrave, 38, the most celebrated
oarsman in Olympic history, teamed with Matthew Pinsent, Tim Foster
and James Cracknell to win the men's coxless fours. |

Vera Ilyina and Yulia Pakhalina upstaged China's great Fu Mingxia on

Germany for the gold medal on Saturday. |

first Olympic gold medal in Trampolining on Saturday night with a
score of 41.7. |

Pakistan
scored in the last minute to salvage a draw with Malaysia in the
men's semifinals, while India's
semi-final hopes were kept alive after it defeated Spain 3-2.

Jones taking the women's and Maurice Greene winning the men's. |

Greece's
Pyrros Dimas won a dramatic men's 85 kg contest on Saturday to
become only the second weightlifter in history to win three gold
medals. Dimas, light-heavyweight champion in Barcelona and Atlanta,
won an enthralling battle in which the
three medallists finished tied on the same weight of 390 kg. |
