SYDNEY 2000

Olympic Sydney: Forget the medals, it's time to party
Forget all those years of dedication, those endless training sessions at dawn. It's time to party. Athletes who led lives of monastic austerity have discovered there is life after sport - and they are putting as much energy into Olympic partying as they did into Olympic training.

ATHLETES

Athlete Spotlight: Athletes: Anna Kozlova (USA)
Careful choreography and effortless grace are the signature of synchronized swimming, and veteran athlete Anna Kozlova blends the two with ease. Kozlova, who spices up her routines with a dash of animal imitation, has been active in the sport since age six. Her career began with five years on Russia's national team, but a training trip to the U.S. persuaded her to switch citizenship.

Athlete Spotlight: Dmitry Sautin (Russia)
Dmitry Sautin became the first Russian man to win an Olympic gold medal in diving when he won the platform at the 1996 Atlanta Games. He finished a disappointing fifth in the springboard, but he atoned for that by winning both gold medals at the 1998 World Championships, establishing himself as the best all-around diver today.
